Beside the usage of coal with low consistence of sulphur and ash, in years 2000-2004 we concluded additional combustion technical measures that reduced emission concentrations of nitric oxides.
Dust extractor devices (bag house filter behind boiler of unit 1, bag house filter behind boiler of unit 2 and electrostatic precipitator behind boiler of unit 3) are also highly efficient in decreasing emission values of dust particles.
Opened public relations
For many years we have been solving problems of protecting the environment and spatial management with our plant. We are aware of the possibility and responsibility for successful and systematic execution of environmental tasks, especially in the neighborhood where TE-TOLoperating.
Successful task execution for agreeable living and better environment is to a large extent dependent on participation of the neighborhood. Questions, connected with the protection of the environment, are most successfully dealt with the cooperation of all interested parties.
Opened relationship with inhabitants of Ljubljana is also supported with the big screen, which displays half-hour emission concentrations of SO2, NOx, dust and CO, measured on a joint smokestack in TE-TOL within operating emission monitoring. Values, which are currently measured, are automatically evaluated by the emission evaluation system.
Measurements are evaluated also with the cooperation of authorized organizations.

Environmental protection, which TE-TOL has taken into consideration until now and will do so also in the future, is for long-term development of the company an essential and important factor. TE-TOL is aware that present development cannot jeopardize the development and ecological needs of the present and future generation.
